Allen-Ware family papers, 1782-1866.

Correspondence and other papers of the Rev. Henry Ware, Unitarian minister and Harvard professor, and his family. Correspondents include Ware's father-in-law, the Rev. Jonas Clark, daughter Lucy Clark Ware Allen, her husband the Rev. Joseph Allen, their children Mary Ware Allen, the Rev. Joseph Henry Allen, and Edward A.H. Allen. A short memoir written by Henry Ware and an 1844 diary kept by Edward A.H. Allen are included. Also included is a 1914 printed genealogy of Henry Ware's descendants. The bulk of the collection is correspondence relating to family matters, with some reference to religion and politics.
